We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a new cohort in Navarre, Florida, as part of our Get Fresh Florida summer program, welcoming K-12 students to explore Florida’s agriculture, natural resources, and healthy living through engaging, project-based learning. This first-come, first-served program offers a comprehensive range of courses aligned with Florida standards, ensuring learners gain a deeper understanding of Florida’s ecosystems while building essential academic and creative skills.

Explore Florida Through Our Get Fresh Florida Curriculum

Our Get Fresh Florida summer program in Navarre offers K-12 learners a diverse set of courses that integrate core subjects, electives, and project-based learning, all aligned with Florida standards. From exploring local ecosystems to creating art inspired by Florida’s natural resources, learners will develop critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world skills while celebrating the state’s agricultural heritage. Below is a full outline of the courses and their learning outcomes:

  • K-2: Recognize letters, develop phonemic awareness, and read grade-level texts with fluency [B.E.S.T. ELA.K-2.F/R].

    3-5: Use grade-level vocabulary in writing, analyze text features, and write opinion pieces [B.E.S.T. ELA.3-5.R].

    6-8: Analyze complex texts, write essays, and develop arguments [B.E.S.T. ELA.6-8.R].

    9-12: Analyze author’s choices in literature, write argumentative and informative essays [B.E.S.T. ELA.9-12.R].

  • K-2: Count to 100, add/subtract within 1000, and measure lengths [B.E.S.T. MA.K-2.NSO].

    3-5: Multiply/divide within 1000, understand fractions, and explore volume [B.E.S.T. MA.3-5.NSO/FR].

    6-8: Solve equations, explore geometry, and analyze data [B.E.S.T. MA.6-8.AR/DP].

    9-12: Solve linear and quadratic equations, apply geometric concepts, and use functions [B.E.S.T. MA.912.AR].

  • K-2: Observe plants and animals, explore motion and forces [NGSSS SC.K-2.L/P].

    3-5: Investigate electricity, study ecosystems, and explore animal adaptations [NGSSS SC.3-5.P/L].

    6-8: Analyze ecosystems, investigate physical science, and explore Earth systems [NGSSS SC.6-8.L/P/E].

    9-12: Analyze chemical reactions, apply Newton’s laws, and study environmental science [NGSSS SC.912.P/L].

  • K-2: Learn roles of community helpers and responsibilities [NGSSS SS.K-2.CG].

    3-5: Study Florida history, explore U.S. history, including the Revolutionary War [NGSSS SS.3-5.A].

    6-8: Study world history, civics, and geography [NGSSS SS.6-8.W/CG/G].

    9-12: Study U.S. history, world history, and government [NGSSS SS.912.A/W/CG].

  • Arts: Create drawings, paintings, and digital art projects inspired by Florida’s natural resources [NGSSS VA.K-12.C].

    Music: Explore rhythm and melody through singing and instruments, with performances celebrating Florida’s culture [NGSSS MU.K-12.C/S].

    Physical Education (PE): Develop movement skills through activities like gymnastics, dance, and team games, focusing on healthy living [NGSSS PE.K-12.C].

    Technology: Explore coding, game design, and digital literacy, creating projects like virtual farm simulations [Web ID: 6].
